                              Independent Affiliates

For some of those involved in the field of NDT ultrasonic pipe testing, we believe that there may be a mutual benefit to establishing a working relationship.  In that respect, you may be interested in our business offering below:

  • Background

Since 1994, CorrView International, LLC has provided ultrasonic testing services throughout the United States and elsewhere at various commercial building properties as well as at different government entities.  Our initial interest was to greatly exceed the standards of reporting which we knew to exist, and to provide to our clients with the most thorough and informative pipe testing report available anywhere.

We have greatly succeeded in this goal, and as of this date, have completed ultrasonic piping inspections at over 1,150 different buildings with just a small UT team.  Our report detail and accuracy, as well as the benefit to our clients, has proven to be unmatched.

A sample report along with much more information is available on this internet site – www.corrview.com/full-report-sample

  • Proposition

Given the difficulties of travel which have arisen, we are considering the potential benefits of teaming up with skilled and qualified independent UT personnel in other areas of the United States; working together at various levels depending upon YOUR interests.

This is not a job offer nor offer of employment, but instead a suggested working arrangement to be utilized when you feel it best suits your needs.  We have an interest to establish this relationship with only a limited number of individuals in order that we can maintain the highest level of excellence.  CorrView is seeking smart and capable individuals or small independent companies to work with and to develop a personal and profitable relationship.  Above all, we are looking for individuals striving for excellence in their work, as well as to provide the highest level of service to their clients.

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to start-up their own independent UT pipe testing business, or looking to expand such a business.  It may also be of interest to those without reporting software; currently submitting an X by Y spreadsheet of wall thickness values.

What we can offer is a significantly more through and impressive level of reporting of your pipe testing results than what you currently provide to your clients.  You would perform the same field testing as you currently do, and would only have to slightly modify your existing field testing procedure to fulfill our own field testing protocol.  While various NDT technologies exist, we have found a basic straight beam A scan instrument ideal for the piping systems we address and the problems mostly experienced.  This allows the capture of a large volume of information capable of almost always producing a reliable and comprehensive final report.

Rather than submit to your client a basic Excel spreadsheet of wall thickness values for your client to try to evaluate, as we find the standard submission for most UT firms, CorrView would take your raw data and produce anywhere from an enhanced statistical evaluation, all the way to a complete and printed final report ready to send out – this depending upon YOUR OWN interests.

With our field testing procedure strictly followed, CorrView can then analyze and compile your data into a much higher standard report as well as save you valuable time spent creating the report.  In short, you would perform the field work, and for those projects that you want to provide a higher level of service, we would analyze the data and return it to you to present to your client.  For clients satisfied by a wall thickness value spreadsheet there would be no need for our services, but for those looking for the maximum benefit and understanding from the same amount of field testing effort, our analysis is likely to be well received.

Our clientele is comprised typically of high-rise commercial office buildings and some high-rise residential properties, data centers, financial institutions, and government buildings.  We deal primarily with the HVAC, fire protection, and plumbing systems common to those properties.

  • Testing Procedure

Our investigations begin with a field visit to the site where we perform three actions for each example of pipe tested.  More than likely, you already perform a very similar field investigation.

  1.  The first is to strategically select pipe sections for UT measurements.  After sample spot testing has been performed in order to assess general conditions we then take 12 representative measurements in a standardized or specific grid around the circumference of the pipe section.
  2. The second step is to take a single digital photograph of the site location for use in the report.  The photograph helps explain to the client the area of pipe tested.  Other photographs may document a leak, surface rust, threat failure, etc.
  3. The third is to complete an Excel spreadsheet on a laptop computer relating all details about the pipe section such as pipe size, schedule, pipe material, operating parameters, pressure, etc. One line per pipe section tested coordinates all the necessary information.

You would follow this same protocol at each area of pipe tested, followed by returning that information to CorrView.  All information must be provided in order for each pipe section tested.  Failure to follow our strict procedure will result in data that is unacceptable and unusable.  It’s not rocket science but without certain data in the proper format, we would not be able to proceed.

  • Data Analysis and Reporting

After your field work is complete, all information and data would be downloaded and assembled into a single zipped file which is then uploaded to our secure website.  We then take that information and review it for completion.  Finally, we will produce a report under your company name.

The information we return to you may be in various forms depending upon your interests:

  1. Only the calculations or individual data pages of each test location for you to comment upon and incorporate into your own report format.
  2. The above and including our narrative explanation of the results and recommendations in a Word document that you can easily edit to your needs.
  3. A fully printed UT report ready for delivery to your client – provided in both hard copy and PDF formats.  The report includes all your company information, your logo, your name, and no reference to CorrView whatsoever.
  • Piping Systems

Of the various types of piping systems we evaluate, the most common due to their troublesome nature are:

  • Open condenser water
  • Dry and pre-action fire protection
  • Galvanized steel domestic water service
  • Dual temperature or 4 pipe fan unit perimeter systems.

Plumbing systems comprised of cast iron and ductile iron pipe are the most difficult to address.

  2. Must have a UT level ll certification minimum.

  11. Your geographical area of interest will be protected from any others seeking similar cooperation with CorrView in that area.
  12. We will establish a fixed fee to process your data on a per test location basis, and provide you a fixed cost you can build into your project quotes.
  13. We will provide you access to the many technical reprints published on our Internet site – www.corrview.com, as well as permission to re-publish and hand them out to your own clients.

In fact, we have provided the same service for other UT companies, as well as those looking to add nondestructive pipe testing to their other NDT services such as infrared inspection, vibration analysis, steam trap testing, etc.
